Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Szczecin within the framework of Active education offers educational kayaking. It is to be carried out in the area of Natura 2000 sites where the project Active protection of water-crowfoots habitats and restoration of wildlife corridor in the river Drawa basin in Poland is being realised: Lakes Czaplineckie, Drawska Refugium and Drawski Landscape Park.
The aim of educational kayaking is to enable participants direct and individual contact with Natura 2000 sites on which the project is being conducted; it will also allow them to familiarise themselves with some problems of water-crowfoots rivers as a habitat of a great natural value, which is extremely important also for the man. During these meetings we will also have an opportunity to observe wildlife river corridors. In addition, a competition for participants will take place during each kayaking. Meetings of those implementing the project with people interested in the subject of rivers’ protection will be also an excellent opportunity to present natural values and tourist attractiveness of Natura 2000 sites.
The first kayaking within Active education took place in 2015 on the river Korytnica. The report is on the project’s website. This year we invite you on the upper Drawa. The planned date is 9 September 2016. The kayaking will take place on the route Rzepowo – Złocieniec. ASSEMBLY POINT FOR PARTICIPANTS OF THE KAYAKING: Campsite in Złocieniec
78-520 Złocieniec, Połczyńska Street
| 800– 815 | Patricipants’ meeting, accreditation (the campsite in Złocieniec). |
| 830– 930 | Greeting. Transfer to Rzepowo where kayaks are located. The transfer is provided by the company responsible for the kayaks. |
| 930– 1000 | Start of kayaking on the river Drawa Organizational information. Teaching safety. Allocation of equipment. |
| 1000– 1430 | Kayaking on the river Drawa on the section Rzepowo-Złocieniec. Information, discussions and hydroquizzes on the route. |
| 1430– 1600 | Nature contest’s results and prize-giving. Meal at a campfire (campsite in Zlocieniec). |
The organizer provides the participants with some takeaway rations (2 nutrition bars and 0.5l of mineral water) and a hot meal with drinks after the kayaking.
